How to Order
How much in advance should I order a wedding cake?
Wedding cakes enquires can be placed through our website, and orders must be placed with a minimum of 3 months notice, based upon availability. Grace Patisserie frequently books up to multiple weeks ahead of time, so the earlier the better.
As wedding cakes are not priced on the website these are an enquiry form to request a quote where we will email you with a quote on the cake or discuss further. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your wedding date and order, while subsequent balance is due 2 week prior to your wedding.
Do you make custom cakes?
*Our Signature Cake range will be launching soon*
We do not offer fully custom cake designs. For example, we do not make custom cakes with a cartoon character theme, or in mediums we do not specialise in (e.g fondant, ganache or advance chocolate work). All cake design and flavor options are listed on our website (launching soon).
While we don't provide custom design cakes, we do offer semi-customisable design options. Below are the options we provide to create a cake to your liking:
1. Choose your cake's size and flavor.
2. Choose your cake's colour scheme.
3. Optional "Add ons" of decorations.
4. Optional message on cake.

How much is a cake?
Prices for our signature cakes, cupcakes or minis are available on our online store (coming soon).
As for our wedding cakes, they are customisable - this means that there is no set price list. Pricing is dependant on size, flavour and complexity of design. Please get in touch via our store or email for a detailed quote.

Do you make fondant cakes & characters?
No, we specialise only in Buttercream cakes. We do not cover our cakes or make figurine/characters in fondant.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Unfortunately no, we do not organise cake tastings. Alternatively we launch bi-annually cake tasting boxes which you can order from our online store. Follow our socials or subscribe to our newsletters to keep up-to-date on their release dates.
Do you cater to dietary requirements/allergies?
We can cater to Gluten-free and Nut-free for our signature cakes/cupcakes/minis.
While for Vegan/dairy-free/Egg-free requirements we only offer them in cupcakes or mini cakes.
For GF/DF/Vegan option we recommend our chocolate cakes as they remain more moist.
For allergies, do note that we work in a kitchen that works with all these allergens so traces may still be present. We will still ensure, to the best of our ability, to minimise cross-contamination.
How long do your cake stay fresh to serve?
Our cakes can be served up to 2 days from your pick up date depending on decorations. This means that if you pick up on a Friday, you may serve by Sunday. Just remember to store your cake in the fridge then take it out about 2-3 hours before serving to let it fully come to room temperature.
If you are not serving your cakes the same day, we recommend not choosing a cake design which includes fresh flowers as they are prone to wilting by the next day.
Once cut and served, leftover cake can be stored in an airtight container and kept refrigerated up to 4 -5 days.
What is the best way to serve and store my cake/cupcakes?
All cakes and cupcakes should be served at room temperature.
Cakes: All of our cakes are stored in the refrigerator before pickup to ensure smooth transportation. Please allow 2-3 hours for cakes to come to room temperature (20-21C) before serving. This may take longer in colder weather. Cold cakes and buttercream will be hard and will soften up at room temperature.
Cupcakes: Cupcakes should be served and stored at room temperature, unless it is a very warm day. If it is a warm day, pop them in the fridge then take them out to room temperature a few hours before serving.
How long can your cakes stay at room temperature?
We suggest the buttercream cakes can stay out at room temperature for up to 4 hours depending on weather. The cake is best eaten at room temperature.
For mousse cakes/petit gateau/dessert canapés they require to be kept in the fridge and may last outside up to 1 hour.
For all products, avoid direct heat from sun or heaters.
How do I store leftover cake?
After cutting your cake, store slices in an airtight container. Cake slices can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
To thaw frozen cake, place into fridge overnight. Then bring to room temperature the next day to enjoy it at it's optimum texture.
Pick Up & Delivery
Where do I pick up my order?
We offer pick up from Ohoka, Kaiapoi.
As this is a residential area, our address and pick up instructions will be emailed to you in your email order confirmation after the order is placed.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes we do offer delivery, from a time frame of 10am - 2pm, subject to availability.
Please ensure someone will be present for collection as we do not wish to leave cakes and our products unattended outdoors if no one is present.
Do you ship your products nationwide (New Zealand)?
Unfortunately no.
We are working on offering shipping on our cake tasting boxes and macaron boxes in the future.
Terms & Conditions
General
By ordering from Grace Patisserie, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and accept that these Conditions may be modified or amended and posted on this website from time to time.
Ordering
We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may limit or cancel quantities purchased. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or phone number provided at the time the order was made. Customers are responsible for verifying that the details on their invoice is correct, and notifying Grace Patisserie if anything is incorrect.
Cancellations & Modifications (Signature Cakes/Cupcakes/Mini Cakes)
Cancellations and modifications must be made at least 1 week in advance of your order. Orders cancelled with more than 1 week's notice of the fulfillment date will receive a refund of 50% of the total amount paid.
Orders cancelled within 6-4 days notice of the fulfillment date will receive a refund of 25% of the total amount paid.
In the event that the order is cancelled 3 days or less prior of the fulfillment date, no refund will be issued.
The final date of any modifications to your order (including size, flavor, design, order date and time) are due at least 1 week prior to the fulfillment date. Changes made within this period may incur additional fees.
In cases of unforeseen events, such as emergencies or force majeure, the company reserves the right to negotiate refunds or reschedule dates.
All payments must be made in full to confirm your order, or a 50% deposit for wedding cakes only.
Cancellations & Modifications (Wedding Cakes/Canapes/Dessert Tables)
Changes & Customizations:
- Minor design modifications may be possible up to 2 weeks before the event.
- Major design changes may incur additional costs.
- We will do our best to match color requests but cannot guarantee an exact match.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email) and acknowledged by Grace Patisserie.
- If you cancel more than 60 days before the event, you are entitled to a full refund of deposit minus an $80 administrative fee.
- If you cancel between 30 and 59 days before, you will receive a 50% refund minus an $80 fee.
- Cancelling less than 30 days before the event will result in no refund.
Rescheduling & Changes to Order:
- No changes to your order can be made within 7 days of the pickup/delivery date, as we may have sourced or prepared special ingredients or decorations in advance.
Damages, Liability & Responsibility
Grace Patisserie assumes no liability or responsibility after the order leaves our kitchen for pick up, or after the order has been delivered to the final address for delivery.
Once the cake has been collected or delivered, no responsibility is accepted for damage, spoilage, or other issues related to storage, handling, or transportation.
